THE INTENTION OF CREATION

For this fragrance, like The Principe Masculin, I wanted to raise awareness of the feminine and masculine principles that we all carry within us. Every woman holds a part of the masculine within her, just as every man carries a part of the feminine. In Chinese medicine and yoga philosophy, this is expressed through Yin and Yang: two complementary energies that coexist and remain in balance.

Symbolically, the feminine represents creation, intuition, emotion, and receptivity. To express the Yin, my intention was to reinterpret the chypre accord.

I have always been fascinated by this olfactive family. As a child, I would watch my mother perfume herself for special occasions, enveloping herself in chypre scents with something almost ceremonial. For me, chypre carries a singular aura: mysterious, abstract, and profoundly elegant.

I wanted to breathe new life into it, to shift its sometimes overly stately, almost inaccessible image. Even today, when I want to feel more feminine, I instinctively turn to a chypre fragrance.

The singularity of this creation lies in its contrasts: nuances of leather, suede, and vetiver cut through its femininity, bringing a more unsettling facet.
